Identity Crisis

In brief: To form pairs, introduce each other, swap identities, then intro to others based on new identity.

Intensity: Low

Introduction: A confusing but fun way to introduce one another.

Prop(s): None, sticker labels or paper cards for variation 1.

How to play:

  • Members pair up and introduce one another. (See ‘Buddy Intro’ for some of the things to talk about)
  • Each pair is given 2 minutes to do so (1 minute per member).
  • After the pair has introduced each other, they will have to split up to find new partners.
  • Each member will take on the identity of the previous partner and share the information he/she received with his/her new partner.
  • This is repeated 1 or 2 more times.
  • Each member will introduce himself/herself as the last person that he/she spoke to, to the whole group.
  • No writing of information is allowed.

Variation(s):

  1. If name tags are available, the buddies can swap name tags when assuming the new identity. Alternative, you can also use blank cards where the players’ names are written. Players will swap cards.
  2. Include ‘Name Associations’ with this game and include the explanation for the word chosen.
