In brief: 2 teams compete by running around the boundary of a court.
Intensity: High
Introduction: A competitive running game.
Image:
Prop(s): None. Need a boundary/court.
How to play:
- Mark out a rectangle about 1 – 2 meters away from the walls of the room (if in an open space, just mark out a rectangle) as a boundary.
- Pick one of the shorter sides of the rectangle to be the starting line (see picture).

- Divide the group into 2 teams.
- Line the teams up behind the starting line.
- The first member of each team will run outside the boundary towards the other team’s starting point.
- When they meet, they will play the ‘Scissors, Paper, Rock’ game.

- The winner will continue to run forward along the boundary towards the other team.
- The losing team must immediately dispatch the next member to intercept the ‘invader’.
- Where the 2 meet, they will play the ’Scissors, Paper, Rock’ game again.
- This continues until 1 team member manages to cross the starting point of the other team, and gain a point for his/her team.
- Within the time limit given, the team with the greater number of points wins.
Caution:
- Avoid rough ground.
Variation(s):
- Replace ‘Scissors, Paper, Rock’ with ‘Tarzan, Jane, Gorilla’ or ‘Giant, Wizard, Dwarf’ for more excitement and fun.

Notes to the Facilitator: While ‘Scissors, Paper, Stone’ is a well known game, do not assume that everyone knows it. I once conduct a session involving foreigners, and after explaining how Tag of War is placed, I realised that some of froze midway through the game because them do not know the ‘Scissors, Paper, Stone’.
