Sherpa Walk

In brief: To instruct ‘blind’ partner to walk.

Intensity: Medium

Introduction: A game to test the communication skills, while building trust, between 2 persons at the same time.

Prop(s): None. Blindfolds can also be used.

How to play:

  • Get everyone to team up in pairs.
  • One person in each team will close his/her eyes.
  • The partner will then try to guide him/her (the blind partner) around the room by using only verbal communication, without any physical contact.

Caution:

  • Inform the ‘sighted’ person that, in the event that the ‘blind’ person is in danger (of falling down or hitting an obstacle), the former must do everything within his/her power to pull the partner out of danger.

Variation(s):

  1. Step outside the room. Try going up and down steps, negotiate tight spaces (e.g. between 2 trees) and cross small huddles.
