Turn Over a New Leaf

In brief: Group, standing on a groundsheet, to flip it without stepping off.

Intensity: Medium

Introduction: I have been playing this game for a long time and have been calling it ‘Tarp Flip’. At one of my game workshops, one of the participants mentioned he knew the game, only he called it ‘Turn over a new leaf’. I thought it sounded cool and have decided to use it in the book.

Prop(s): A groundsheet.

How to play:

  • Lay a groundsheet and ask all the players to stand on it.
  • Ideally, the size of the groundsheet should be such that when all the players are standing on it, it will occupy about 60% to 75% of the surface area of the groundsheet.
  • The objective is for all the players to flip it bottom-side up without stepping off the groundsheet.Gsheets (Turn over new leaf) 800pix

Caution:

  • Decide for yourself how comfortable you are with the players climbing onto one another in the game. If you allow climbing, you will need to station yourself near the players to ‘spot’ them in case someone falls.
