In brief: Whole group walking in a line with a balloon held between each of them.
Intensity: Medium
Prop(s): One balloon per person.
How to play:
- Every player (except one) is to inflate a balloon to at least the size of his head.
- The players then form a straight line facing one direction.
- Place a balloon between adjacent players and tell them to grip the balloon firmly between their bodies.
- There will be no using of hands to hold the balloons nor one another (see picture).
- Direct the group to walk a distance without anyone dropping any balloons, failing which they will have to start again from the starting point.
Variation(s):
- To increase the level of difficulty, include sharp-angled turns or stairways along the route.
- Allowing the players to hold one another (not the balloons) will make it easier.
Notes to the Facilitator: This game is a lot more challenging than it sounds. The players will usually make a few false starts before they can successfully get going. I found it quite useful to explain how the game is played and then let the players decide how much they want to inflate the balloons. Small balloons make the game more challenging than big balloons.
