In brief: In pair, intro each other without verbal communication.
Intensity: Low
Introduction: This is an alternative to ‘Buddy Intro’, except no talking is allowed. Of course, avoid this game for those who know sign language.
Prop(s): None
How to play:
- Ask the members of the group to pair up. If there is an odd number of members, you can pair up with the last member.
- Inform everyone that each member will be introducing his or her partner to the rest of the group.
- However, the person introducing himself/herself cannot talk. He/She will have to use some kind of non-verbal communication method to share the information (somewhat like a charade).
- The other person, the buddy, is allowed to talk and will try to understand the message.
- The two members will then switch roles.
- Ask each member to introduce his/her buddy, based on the messages he/she has collected.
Variation(s):
- To make the game more challenging, extend the no-talking rule to both partners. Be prepared for some interesting results.
- Include ‘Name Associations’ with this game and include the explanation for the word chosen, non-verbally of course .
