In brief: In trio, one faller performs a short fall on 2 catchers.
Intensity: Medium
Introduction: Let us now add 1 more person to the trust-building process.
Prop(s): None
How to play:
- 3 people of similar size and build form a team of 2 ‘catchers’ and 1 ‘faller’.
- One ‘catcher’ will stand behind the ‘faller’ while the other will stand in front of the ‘faller’ (see picture).
- The protocol is the same as the ‘Two-person Trust Fall’.
- The ‘catcher’ behind will catch the ‘faller’ at the shoulder blades while the ‘catcher’ in front will catch near the shoulder joint.
- The 2 ‘catchers’ will check and signal each other with a thumbs-up when they are both ready.
- The catcher standing behind the faller is in charge of initiating the start and end of the fall.
- All ‘catchers’ and ‘fallers’ will give the cues as a group to avoid the confusion of too many people saying different things at the same time.
- After the fall backwards, the ‘catcher’ at the back will slowly pass (do not push or throw) the ‘faller’ to the ‘catcher’ in front.
- The ‘faller’ will thus be rocking forward and backward, alternating between his/her heels and toes.
- The angle of the first few falls should be kept small.
- After a few rocks back and forth, the ‘catcher’ at the back will bring the ‘faller’ back to a standing (starting) position and tap on the ‘faller’s’ shoulder to signal the end of the fall.

Caution:
- Since no cues are made between forward and backward falls, both “catchers’” hands must always be outstretched until the fall is completed.
- Increase the angle of fall by a little each time. This will enable the ‘catchers’ to estimate the limit of their catching ability.
- The ‘catchers’ must do everything within their capacity to prevent the ‘faller’ from falling to the ground.
