Everybody’s ‘It’

In brief: Everybody is ‘it’ can tag everyone.

Intensity: High

Introduction: Why should only one person have all the fun of tagging the rest? Let’s allow everyone to do so!

Prop(s): None

How to play:

  • Define an area of gameplay (not bigger than half a basketball court for a group of 15-20 people).
  • Explain that everyone is ‘it’, and anyone can tag everyone (i.e. everyone is both hunter and hunted).
  • Anyone tagged will have to squat/knee/sit down and is considered out of the game.
  • This continues until there is only 1 player left.

Caution:

  • Avoid rough ground.
  • Tagging should be done only on the shoulders.

Variation(s):

  1. Gradually shrink the area of gameplay. It will shorten the duration of the game and increase the excitement.
  2. (Medical Tag) Expand the game to allow everyone to have 3 ‘lives’. Once tagged, the participant is considered to have been ‘cut’ and will have to use his/her palm to hold the tagged body part (this is called applying ‘direct pressure’ to reduce blood loss). The participant must continue moving around in that posture (see picture). The same goes for the second tag. Upon the third tag, the participant has to squat/knee/sit down and is out of the game.tag-medical-1500pix
