In brief: Use ‘half’ sentences to intro self.Intensity: Low
Introduction: In most introductory games, the facilitator sets the agenda. In this game, the participants choose what they want the others to reveal about themselves.
Prop(s): None
How to play:
- This game is best played in small or medium-sized groups.
- Each member will begin with a “half” sentence, for example, “I am here because …”.
- He/She will then complete the sentence. (e.g. “I am here because … I want to learn more about myself.”
- Each member of the team will take a turn to complete the same “half” sentence and reveal something about himself/herself (please be truthful).
- Once a round has been completed, the next member will then get to start a new “half” sentence.
- Examples of “half” sentences are:
- “I know I am …”
- “The thing I like (or dislike) most is …”
- “I can’t stand people who …”
- “I love animals which are …”
- “My favourite pastime is …”
- “I love to read …”
- “My dream holiday location is …”
- “The thing I like (dislike) most about my job …”
- “The first thing I do in the morning is …”
- “When I am in a hurry, I …”
- “My greatest achievement in life is …”
- “I glad I’m here because …”
Caution:
- You will need to moderate the appropriateness of the sentences used.
Variation(s):
- If it is too time-consuming to allow everyone to say a “half” sentence, you can throw it open to the group members, and stop after the fifth “half” sentence.
