In brief: A triplet of players to form into the called character.
Intensity: Medium
Introduction: A deinhibitiser to help the participants to laugh at themselves.
This character is called an ‘elephant’. The person in the center folds his/her arm to form the ‘trunk’ while the two persons on each side form the large ‘ears’.
This character is called a ‘palm tree’. The three persons put their palms together to form the branches of the tree. In addition, you can make the trio sway a little from side to side as if the wind was blowing it.
This character is (believe it or not) called ‘dogs’. The person in the middle acts as a fire hydrant. And the 2 persons on each side are ‘dogs’. What do dogs do next to a fire hydrant? They pee on it, of course.
Prop(s): None
How to play:
- Get the group to stand in a circle, with you in the middle.
- Explain that the game requires the participants to form groups of 3 to act out a character.
- Introduce a few characters to the group (see pictures)
- The person in the center of the circle gets to point at a person and call out one of the characters.
- That person, together with the ones on his/her immediate left and right, has to form that character.
- Any member of the trio who does not do so correctly will now be the new “it” and has to stand in the centre.
- Get the participants to develop new characters and actions.
Variation(s):
- The person in centre of the trio is considered the leader. To instill the sense of responsibility for his/her teammates, he/she will be the new “it” if any of his/her members makes a mistake.
- Introduce sound with the characters.
