Introduction: An energiser that I love to use as the last activity to wrap up my teambuilding workshop.

How to play:

  • Recite the following ditty and do the corresponding actions (see pictures)
    • Set Set Set (slap both palms on thighs 3 times)
    • Set Set Set (slap both palms on thighs 3 times)
    • Gila Gila Gila Gila (circle fingers beside head)
    • Set Set Set (slap both palms on thighs 3 times)set-set-set-set-gila
  • Repeat the whole ditty one more time, and then proceed to the chorus:
    • Roti prata Roti prata (stretch arms out in front)set-set-set-roti
    • Gila Gila Gila Gila (circle fingers beside head)
    • Set Set Set (slap both palms on thighs 3 times)
  • As the participants become familiar with the ditty, increase the speed of the chant.

Variation(s):

  1. For the second set, carry out the ditty but perform the series of actions on the persons to the right and left. For ‘Set Set Set’ – slap both palms 3 times on the thigh of the person on the left. For ‘Gila Gila Gila Gila’ – circle fingers beside the head of the person on the right. The action for ‘Roti prata’ remains unchanged. See the pictures below.set-set-set-var-1
  2.  For the third set , swap sides for the actions:‘Gila Gila Gila Gila’ – circle fingers beside the head of the person on the left.
  3. ‘Roti prata’ remains unchanged.
  4. ‘Set Set Set’ – slap both palms 3 times on the thigh of the person on the right.
  5. For the last set, repeat all three sets in sequence, starting from the main game, followed by variation 1, then 2, slowly at first and progressively increasing the speed.
  6. If people are not comfortable with ‘Set Set Set’ on others’ thighs (Variation 1), do it on their upper arms.
  7. Develop your own ditty.
